Roche Bobois celebrated their 20th anniversary in Beirut – Lebanon.
More than 400 guests attended to to discover the work of upcoming and established artists. Ten designers reinterpreted ten pieces of Mah Jong,the iconic Roche Bobois modular sofa, designed by Hans Hopfer. These unique pieces were then auctioned off by the international auctioneer, Tom Best, coming from London for the event. USD 86, 300 were raised to the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon.
Bruno Hitti, the general manager of Roche Bobois Beirut, the man behind this event worked hard to add Beirut to the design map. Bruno Being a lover of beauty and design aimed to mix between art and his love to give back to society by helping CCCL. To do so Bruno worked on all the details of the event, from picking the designers to the mood of the showroom and the end result.
The pieces were unveiled during the event displayed on a runway in the center of the showroom and one was hanged from the ceiling and another on the the wall.
The ten designers included the Fashion Designer Zuhair Murad, Interior Architect Ramy Boutrous, Architect Galal Mahmoud, Musician Guy Manoukian, Architect and Product Designer Georges Mohasseb, Photographer Roger Moukarzel, Product and Furniture Designer Anastasia Nysten, Illustrator and Fashion Designer Cynthia Merhej, Arabiccalligraffiti and street art crew Ashekman, Architect Sara Temsah and florist Marwan Hamza.
Guests included Roche Bobois‘ VIP clients and friends as well as designers, architects, bloggers, editors and publishers from the media. Such as Nora Joumblat, Chair of the Children’s Cancer Center of Lebanon, Mira Samaha, the evening’s master of ceremony , Mr. Benoit Tabutin, Roche Bobois International Area Manager – EMEA, the Journalist May Chidiac, Interior Architect Nour Al Zaim Founder of Design In Frame, Nathalie Zeidan Founder of Lebanese Designers, the Makeup Artist Fady Kataya and much much more.
